King’s Scout/DofE Gold Expedition

Applications are now open for NIEX 2026! Spaces are limited, so we encourage early registration.

  • Age Requirements:
    • King’s Scout/DofE Gold: Minimum 16 years old by 1 February 2026.
    • All participants must be under 25 years old by 1 September 2026.
  • Costs:
    • King’s Scout/DofE Gold Expedition (Approximately £475, balance to be invoiced in 3 installments) No more than £500 in total.
      Deposit payment is required during initial sign-up via the events calendar.
  • Locations:
    • Practice Expedition: Mourne Mountains
    • King’s Scout Gold Qualifying: Lake District, England
  • Mandatory Attendance: Participants must attend all training, practice, and qualifying expeditions listed in the events calendar.
  • Transport: Provided for the King’s Scout Gold expedition from Ardnavally Scout Centre to the Lake District. For other events, participants are responsible for meeting at the designated locations.
  • Food: Participants must provide their own food for all training and expeditions.
  • Equipment: A full kit list is included in the NIEX 2026 PDF. Participants without the required equipment will not be permitted to continue.
